Is it really possible to please your master?

A note to my friends in the North Bay. I was awoken in what felt like the middle of the night by the bed shaking slightly. I thought it was a minor localized tremor. Then I woke to reports of a 6.0 earthquake in Napa. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and to everyone affected by the quake.
I hope everyone enjoyed the introduction to Monica from Pleasing Mr. Sutton on my last blog. Thanks again to Pamela Fryer for tagging me in the Character Blog Hop! Don’t forget, up today on the Blog Hop are Kate Curran at http://katecurran3.blogspot.com, Jean Oram at http://www.jeanoram.com/the-love-bug-blog/, and Jami Davenport at http://jamidavenport.blogspot.com. I can’t wait to read about their characters!
Thanks to Rae Monet for this fabulous cover. I love, love, love it! And for your reading pleasure, Pleasing Mr. Sutton is live! Book 5 in the West Coast series features Rance Sutton and Monica Dawson. You met them both in The Other Man, West Coast, Book 4. Ward and Spence bandy about the idea that the statuesque Miss Dawson is actually Mr. Sutton’s sex slave. Well, here’s the real story!
He has only one rule. She will do everything he says exactly when he tells her to do it.
Chairman of the board Rance Sutton is looking for a new playmate, an untried submissive he can train to do things his wicked way.
Miss Dawson, the chairman's personal secretary, wants to get a lot more personal. What better way than becoming his new submissive? After all, she already does everything his way. So really, what's a little spanking, flogging, handcuffing, and blindfolding if the payoff is Mr. Sutton in her bed? And that's something she's dreamed about for the entire five  years she's worked for him.
The problem? This will be no love affair. He will be her master. And she will be his slave. Miss Dawson's desires aren't part of the bargain; everything will be about pleasing Mr. Sutton...
Here’s an excerpt.

Chapter Two
“I have the perfect candidate for the new position.” Monica placed the resume on his big desk and slid it across to him. She’d given herself an hour to prepare before presenting it. That hour had also given Mr. Sutton a chance to enjoy his first cup of coffee, a special blend she brewed him. He’d be mellower now.
“That was fast work.” He remained seated while she stood before him. It seemed submissive, like the teenage girl who’s forced to stand before the headmaster.
“The choice ended up being quite easy.” She laced her fingers behind her back. Again there was a submissive feel to the gesture. She’d dressed for him. Her blouse was teal, sheer with a lacy camisole beneath, which she’d paired with a cream skirt that hugged her behind, but dropped tastefully to below the knees. She felt sexy but tailored, classy but inviting.
“Commendable work,” he said, picking up the resume.
Her tension began to rise as he read. She’d addressed every bullet point on his list. She was intrigued by the lifestyle, she’d never dabbled, she wanted him to teach her, she was willing to accept pain to receive pleasure, she needed his punishment, and so on. His eyes flicked back and forth across the page, but not another muscle twitched. Until finally he laid the single sheet of paper back on the expensively tooled leather top of his desk.
“You already have a job, Miss Dawson.”
She willed her cheeks not to flame. “Yes. But as I assume this new position”—she flexed the word, adding a sexual spin—“will be extracurricular, I believe I can carry out both functions to your complete satisfaction.”
He watched her unblinkingly, and the temperature in the office began to rise. A flush started inside, rushing out to her skin. He had to notice the scarlet blaze.
“I have no doubt about your abilities, but it’s never good to mix business and pleasure. We have a professional relationship. Making you my submissive would violate that.”
A kernel of ice expanded in her chest. He was turning her down.
“This is not the kind of thing you can turn on and off, Miss Dawson. I think it’s best—”
She couldn’t let him reject her. “A lot of people might consider that asking me to buy sex toys for you is violating our business relationship.”
“You are my personal secretary. I never asked you to demonstrate the devices for me.”
“In a corporate environment, the CEO doesn’t ask his secretary to search for submissive playmates.” She’d been about to cite Holt Montgomery, CEO of West Coast Manufacturing, as an example, but he was marrying his secretary next month, so that comparison might fall short.
“I mentioned when I hired you that some of the tasks I gave you would be of a more personal nature.” His face was implacable. Unreadable. Mr. Sutton could be a hard man when he chose. Last night’s bravado was starting to fade.
But if she backed down now, there would never be another chance. Just the fact that she’d asked had changed their working relationship. How would she get over the embarrassment, let alone the rejection? She’d made the choice, now she had to convince him.
“There are advantages you might not have thought of,” she told him. “Except when you have meetings or when we’re traveling”—she accompanied him and took care of the details—“we’re alone in this suite all day.” She flourished a hand to encompass his office, her smaller accommodations outside, and the conference room. “You must have thought about having a submissive you can command during the day.” She lowered her voice. “Make her do anything. Right here.” She lovingly stroked the desk’s leather top. “Or over there.” She pointed to the sofa.
She imagined herself splayed out on that genteel couch. Or facedown on his desk while he did all those mysterious dominant things to her. “Anything,” she said softly. “Anywhere.”
His nostrils flared slightly, the first indication of an emotion. “Miss Dawson.”
She wouldn’t let him stop her. “Every time you send me out to buy one of those devices”—she drew out the word for effect—“I’m dying to know exactly what you do with them.” She moistened her lips. “How it would feel.”
He swallowed, his Adam’s apple gliding slowly along his throat. “Miss Dawson.” It was all he seemed capable of saying.
How far could she go? She’d waited a long time for this opportunity. She’d go to great lengths to make it happen.
So she told him the truth, in a soft sexual purr meant for the bedroom. “And every time it makes me wet.”

Hi everyone! The Other Man is out, woohoo!

You can find the address and phone number at http://villagehouseofbooks.com/. I hope you’ll drop by if you’re in the area!

And now to The Other Man! This is the 4th book in the West Coast series. But wait, one more thing! To celebrate the release, I’ll be giving away 5 ebook copies of Submitting to the Boss, Book 2! Leave a comment AND your email address (so that I can contact you if you win) on the blog to be entered in that giveaway. Revenge, Book 1, is also free right now, so be sure to get your copy! Details at the end of the blog!

For those of you who read The Boss’s Daughter, you’ll remember Spencer Benedict. After writing that book, I was dying to find out what Spence was up to. In fact, the tagline for his book came to me before I’d even finished writing The Boss’s Daughter. Here it is!

For every hotwife and her husband, there’s always the other man.
And Spencer Benedict is the perfect other man.
Until he meets the woman for whom he wants to be the only man.

When I first started thinking about Spence and The Other Man, I envisioned giving readers the other side of the hotwifing coin, what it’s like to be the other guy in a three-way relationship. Can it work? Or will someone eventually get jealous? Or possessive? And Spence is such an easy-going guy, but in this situation, how will he react? He’s got a backstory that plays into who he is (don’t we all, LOL!), so at first it seems like he’ll be absolutely perfect as a third. So it was fun writing this story, learning more about Spence. And the kind of woman he would fall for. Thanks to Rae Monet for the great cover! Here’s a blurb and an excerpt for you to enjoy.

Zoe Hudson has a most unusual marriage: she plays while she's away on business, and her husband is dying to hear all about her naughty activities when she returns home. It's certainly an unconventional arrangement, but it works perfectly for them. Until Zoe meets Spencer Benedict and a five-day liaison away from home turns into something more. Should she risk making Spence her full-time other man? If she does, her husband will want to know every naughty detail. He’ll probably want to watch, maybe even participate.

Can a hotwife satisfy both men in her life? Or will this other man spell disaster?

Shoving the outer door open, he stepped into the sultry heat of the night. As he crossed the courtyard to the promenade along the beach, a light breeze picked up, toning down the humidity. He strolled to the low wall and stood, hands in pockets as the waves crashed on the shore. It was summer, school was already out in most places, and the walkway was crowded with teenagers, families, couples. His footwear wasn’t appropriate—street shoes—but he headed down the stone steps to the beach. Heat rose from sand that had been baking in the sun all day, but down at the edge of the water, a cool breeze blew off the ocean. And above the scents of sea and salt and lingering suntan lotion, he smelled her flowery perfume as if it had stuck in his head.

But the voice wasn’t a trick of his imagination.

“It’s a gorgeous night, but I’m not used to this heat.” Her tone was husky, low, sexy. She held a paper fan in her hand, stirring the air around her, blowing her scent over him. Her high heels dangled from her fingers. She looked at him, wrinkling her nose. “It was getting terribly stuffy in there.”

“Yes,” he agreed. They weren’t alone on the beach, but the ceaseless beat of the ocean waves cocooned them.

“You were on my plane, weren’t you?” she asked. “From San Francisco?”

He nodded. Obviously he’d been caught staring, but he hadn’t noticed her giving him a single glance.

“We’re just not used to this humidity.” She groaned, fanned herself more vigorously.

“Just wait till there’s a thunderstorm. It gets worse.” He’d been to Florida before, of course. Rain didn’t cool things off; it simply turned everything into steam.

“It was only eighty-nine degrees today.” She gathered her hair, twisted it in a rope around her hand, and held it up off her neck. “Back home that would have been bearable.”

His blood drummed in his ears. He had a near uncontrollable urge to lick the salt from her nape. Did she know she was driving him crazy? He wanted to bend all his rules. He wanted to admit he didn’t have any where she was concerned. That’s what seven hours of watching her had done to him.

“It’ll cool off in a bit. Seventy maybe.” The steadiness of his voice surprised him.

“Thank goodness. I wanted to take my walk on the beach in the morning.”

He wanted to ask her what time. Or maybe she’d simply tell him. Because she’d definitely followed him. And he wanted to see her out on the beach in the early morning light.

“I better turn in,” she said. “I have to call home, let my husband know I arrived safely. And we’ve got a full day tomorrow.” She smiled, backed up a step. “Good night.”

He returned the smile, then watched her walk up the beach to the stairs. She didn’t put her shoes back on.

He dreamed of her in the night. He came imagining her mouth on him. But he hadn’t even asked her name.

* * * *

After climbing the steps, she crossed the square to the fountain, the concrete still warm against her bare feet. The man was a dark outline against the night sky.

She’d seen him watching her on the plane, felt him following her after they’d arrived and made their way to baggage claim. As she sipped champagne at the mixer, his gaze had heated her. Talking to him on the beach had been her opening gambit, and she’d been wet with anticipation.

Her phone rang. This late, it could only be her husband.

“Hey, sweetie, how was the flight?”

“Great,” she told him.

“So, have we found any possibilities?”

Oh, she certainly had. “One. He’s going to take a little bit of work. But I’m not in a hurry.” She was going to let the man think about why she’d been down on that beach beside him. Why she’d spoken to him. By tomorrow, he should be more than ready.

Keith groaned. “Does that mean I’m not going to get my hot and sexy phone call tonight before I go to bed?”

She laughed softly. “Not tonight. Tomorrow.”

“Promise, sweetie?”

“I promise.”

Approaching a man she was interested in was the hardest part. Every time she did, her nerves rising, she had to wonder if she was doing it for herself, or because it was what Keith wanted, because imagining her with other men was how he got excited.

This time she didn’t wonder. This time was for her.

Sun and Fun in Palm Springs!

I’m in Palm Springs for a week of sun and fun with my sister! This is our annual girls trip. Boy, was it hot today! We did the flea market at the College of the Desert, then visited my sister’s new condo! Woohoo, a condo! Not that we haven’t loved staying at her timeshare down, but the condo means we can come more than once a year and pick different times of the year. Not summer, though. After mid-May, it’s pretty unbearable for me. Hubby and I came down for my birthday one year, and it was so hot that we couldn’t leave the air conditioning after about noon. We visited the mall and when we got back to the car (which was out in the sun), I couldn’t even touch the door handle with my bare hand!

Here’s a few pics of the gorgeous sunsets down here!

Enjoy your Revenge for Free!

Thank you for all the great responses to The Naughty Corner. I appreciate all the emails and Facebook comments telling me how much you loved the book! Thank you for all the support!

I want to introduce you to the new and improved Revenge Sex! West Coast Book 1 has a had a facelift and a revamp, even a title change! Unfortunately Amazon didn’t like the word sex in the title, and they blacklisted Revenge Sex, taking it out of the search engine. So now it’s simply Revenge, and it has a fabulous new cover!

And I’ve edited the story again. I wanted to read the whole series before I wrote The Other Man, Book 4. It was pretty fun reading Clay and Jessica’s story again! To celebrate getting back in the Amazon search engine, I’m making Revenge free for the month.

Here’s a blurb and naughty excerpt to whet your appetite.

Tough, autocratic CFO Clay Blackwell strikes both fear and loyalty into the hearts of his employees. But he’s got one quirk no one at high-tech Silicon Valley company West Coast Manufacturing knows: he loves the idea of his live-in girlfriend Ruby being with another man...then coming home to him for the best time of his life as she describes every naughty detail. He’s got only three stipulations: no coworkers, no other man in their own home, and she always has to tell him when she has a date. The problem? What to do with a “hotwife” who has all the freedom any woman could want, but still can’t follow three simple rules.

Jessica Murphy has the utmost respect and admiration for her alpha male CFO. She also has wild fantasies about Clay every night. Not that she’d ever tell anyone. Until she walks in on Clay’s girlfriend Ruby getting wild with Bradley the financial analyst right on Clay’s desk.

After that, all bets are off and a little revenge is the name of the game. Ruby thinks she’ll placate Clay by telling him he can be with another woman to pay her back for all her rule-breaking. When Jessica learns about that, she makes up her mind to seduce her sexy boss for keeps, not just one night of revenge.

But can she become the more-than-one-man woman Clay Blackwell wants? Or will his desires tear them apart?

Jessica puffed out a sharp breath. “I don’t know exactly how to bring this up, so I’m just going to say it.” She inhaled as if she needed the extra air. “I saw Ruby having sex with Bradley on your desk two nights ago.”

Clay opened his mouth, shut it again. His chest was suddenly tight, and his only thought was that she must have been mistaken. “That’s not possible.”

Ruby liked to flirt with his rules, but there were two he was sure she would never break. First, she was never to date anyone from work, and second, no sex at the office. Those circumstances could be compromising, especially since they were both employed at West Coast. It was a small company, prone to gossip, and their sex life was private and separate. She would not have sex at the office, not in his office, and certainly not with Bradley Palmer.

“Open the bottom drawer.” Jessica pointed to the left-hand side of his desk.

He slid it open, saw nothing.

“Check at the back,” she said.

He bent slightly to see. Something purple. Lacy. Miniscule. He pulled out the thong Ruby had worn on Wednesday. The thong she said she’d left behind in a hotel room as a memento. Knowing she was going on a date, he’d watched her dress that morning.

Maybe she’d put it there Thursday morning for him to find later, so they could do a little reliving. But then he remembered the photo of his sons. Thursday morning he’d found it knocked over, by the cleaning staff, he’d assumed. Now, there was another possibility. His blood pumped faster.

“She told me that you know about the things she does,” Jessica went on as if he’d been silent way too long. “And that you’re okay with it all. But I wasn’t sure...” She trailed off uncertainly.

Goddammit. There was no doubt now, and he was pissed Ruby had put him in this position. “Sit down.” He indicated the chair Jessica had just vacated.

She sat, perched primly on the edge, her knees jiggling again. “I know it’s not my business, but if you don’t know about it, I just couldn’t stand by,” she prattled on.

He held up the panties. “And these?”

She rolled her lips between her teeth and chewed on them a moment. “She left them behind, and I put them there as evidence.”

Jesus. How could Ruby be so stupid as to flaunt their unconventional sex life?

How could she fuck Bradley Palmer? Her bad taste was the worst crime of all.

“I realize it must have been a shock,” he said, obviously understating. “I’m sorry you were caught in the middle. But Ruby is right, I do know.” He wasn’t defending; he simply refused to lie about it.

Except that Ruby wasn’t supposed to pull this kind of crap at work. She wasn’t supposed to do it at home either. He didn’t want one or both of his sons walking in. Sure, they were in high school—he had them two weekends every month—but they didn’t need to know about anything he and Ruby did.

All Ruby had needed to do was show a little discretion.

“Oh,” Jessica said. Emotions flitted across her face. Confusion, consternation, then condemnation.

He didn’t know why he let that look bother him. He’d always known how other people would react to his kinky desires. He was divorced because of it. In heated moments, he and his ex had occasionally fantasized about her being with other men, but when he finally said he’d like to do it for real, she’d frozen him out.

With that very look Jessica wore now.

Goddamn Ruby for doing this.

Jessica stood, hugging her folder to her chest. “I don’t understand,” she said, bewildered like a child faced with her first dead goldfish. “Don’t you feel cheated?”

He couldn’t say that love had never entered into it with Ruby; that was between Ruby and him. “I’m not wired like most men.” Yet he knew it would explain nothing. Jessica couldn’t understand. His ex-wife had never understood his needs. In the end, she left because of them.

Jessica seemed to gulp down air. “How can you let her do that to you?”

He rose to look down on her. Her gaze was stricken. He realized she’d allowed this to torment her for two days. On his behalf. “She didn’t do it to me. She didn’t hurt me. It’s the way I like it.”

She dropped the folder to her side and stared at him as if he weren’t the man she’d worked for—and hopefully admired—for the past three years. He actually felt diminished.

Jessica finally looked away. “She said it turns you on.”

“It does,” he admitted. He owed her the truth after what Ruby had put her through.

“She said”—she licked her lips—“that you love to have sex with her afterwards.”

Her mouth glistened. Her eyes were a deep blue, the pupils wide. A blush colored her cheeks. She was breathing faster, a pulse fluttering at her throat. And beneath the blouse, her nipples were hard peaks.

Looking at her, he was inexplicably hard. It wasn’t about Ruby; it was suddenly about Jessica, the intimate conversation, his earlier thoughts about her appeal. “I do.”

“Did you have sex with her when she came home on Wednesday?” she asked softly.

The conversation was heated, the office walls closer, the desk between them barely any separation at all. He watched the rise and fall of her breasts. Like a wild dog, he scented her, too, the faint aroma of arousal and emotion.

“Was it good?” She spoke with barely a sound, but he read the words on her lips.

He could feel the sex from that night, and heat suddenly burned all the way to his gut. “Yes, it was.”

But for a moment, the woman’s face he saw in his mind, the feel of smooth female flesh beneath his fingers, the warmth engulfing him, was no longer Ruby. It was Jessica.
