Sinful Treats

Whoohoo, my computer is up and running with its new hard drive! Cross your fingers for me that it lasts!

So, this weekend I went down to my mom’s old folks home for a barbecue. They had different jazz bands set up around the compound and lots of good food. I like the New Orleans jazz style the best. And gosh, it was even sunny down in Pacific Grove! Summer weather there is kinda iffie, lots of fog blanketing the coast. But both Friday and Saturday were downright hot! My mom was so excited about getting her ice cream for dessert. The rest of the food, she could care less. Me, I skipped the ice cream so I could have another BBQd rib. Mom prefers sweet stuff, and I prefer savory. I’d much rather skip dessert to have another piece of filet mignon. Or teriyaki chicken. Not that I don’t enjoy my chocolate. Hubby and I have our treat in the evening, one Lindor truffle! Or a peppermint pattie. He likes the dark chocolate truffles, I love the white chocolate. You have to give yourself a treat every once in a while, no matter that treat is. After all, we all work hard and we deserve it!

So, what’s your most sinful treat? Leave a comment and your contact e-mail address and I’ll enter you in the drawing for a copy of Ain’t She Sweet by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I loved this book! Romances don’t do well as audio books, I’m not sure why, but the one played beautifully. I’ll announce the winner on my next blog, and I’ll also add you to my newsletter for updates if you aren’t already a member. And congratulations to Rory, winner of The Seduction of an Unknown Lady by Samantha James from my previous blog. Rory, please e-mail me on skully at skullybuzz dot com with your snailmail and I’ll get the book sent out to you.

Just a reminder, don’t miss the excerpt on my website, but wear those oven mitts, because it’s explicit right from the get-go! Take Your Pick is available from Loose-Id.

And of course, Dead to the Max is finally available on Amazon Kindle with a fresh new cover look and a text revamp.

Happy Tuesday! It's starting to feel like fall weather!

Cheesecake, any type of cheesecake. I don't get to eat it very often, thank goodness, or I'd weigh a ton. I could eat a whole cheesecake if it was put before me. I like white chocolate too. Those Lindor truffles white chocolate are wonderful. My daughter buys them for me every once in a while. I've been on a diet so I haven't ate anything but diet candy for months. Sigh, I'd love me some cheesecake.

I so love those truffles. You gave me a little bag of them last Christmas and I mistakenly thought they were Ferro Rocher, which are not my favorites. I put them in my pantry on the chocolate shelf to save for when the chocolate craving hit. When the M&M's were gone, I reached for one and I swear I almost had an orgasm when I bit into it. I went "This is not a Ferro Rocher!!!" and then I hid the bag from hubby. I especially loved the white ones. Yum!

Have to say that I found it completely hilarious that we both did our blogs on food!! Must be the "brain sharing" thing!

This is a tough one to answer off the top of my head, because it really depends on my mood ... or even the season.

I absolutely LOVE chocolate ... and white chocolate is a favorite. Dove Bliss white chocolate is something best left at the store, because I will eat the entire bag in an hour. (Restraint? What restraint?)

Cheesecake ... mmm, yeah. There's a restaurant we go to that has fried cheesecake. [sigh] Hubby and I share one piece as a treat.

But there's also hot chocolate on a cold winter afternoon or a delicious banana split melting all over the place while sitting on a park bench in July.

If it's decadent or best indulged in moderation ... yeah, that's what I want. Lots of it ... and keep it coming!

Pumpkin cheesecake! I indulge once a year. My birthday is a round Thanksgiving, so Pumpkin cheesecake is my birthday cake.

Hi there!

The most sinful thing that I eat would probably be fudge. I am salivating as I type this. Thanks a lot!!!

The most sinful thing that I refuse to try, even though my friends persist in trying to get me to eat it, is cheesecake. I figure that if I know it is decadent, then why try it, love it, and then have to deprive myself of it all the time. It is easier to say no when I haven't tried it. Perhaps if I wasn't 50+ pounds overweight at 50+ years of age I'd try it, but not at this stage of my life. So sorry.

BTW, congrats on the computer "up and running". (I have a vision of a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers physically running down the street. Wicked!) As for crossing my fingers that it lasts, good luck with that. I usually go 2 to 2.5 years between crashes. It's never a case of "if" but "when" instead. I back up everything around here.

Cheesecake, Linda, I certainly hear you on that!

LOL, Pam, I'll remember never to give you the Ferro Rocher chocolates! Sometimes I wish I'd never succumbed to the Lindor because they are soooooo good. Thankfully, hubby likes the dark chocolate ones and I get all the white ones!

Moderation is what counts, Rosemary! If we have a little bit or share, then it really is a treat. I'm going to have to try those Bliss white chocolate ones. Or maybe I better not!

Oh, pumpkin cheesecake sounds wonderful, Estella, especially for your birthday!

And blueberry cheesecake, Mariska, that's yummy, too.

I think I hear a theme here. White chocolate and cheesecake seem to be the favorites!

Chocolate Devil's Food Cake! I Can't resist the combination of chocolate and coffee. It's delicious but not so great for my hips. Not that I care (much) it's way to scrumptious to pass up on.
